The Geographic Club - Blog con estilo

Cuatro personas reunidas en torno a una mesa, una cena mágnifica y un ambiente precioso. Así podría resumir (de forma muy escueta) la cena de la que disfruté hace unos días, en The Geographic Club, en Madrid. Una velada encantadora con nuevos amigos a los que espero volver a ver pronto.

Os puedo asegurar que es uno de los restaurantes más interesantes en los que he estado, no sólo por su decoración, ya que se trata de un local concebido como un club de aventureros al más puro estilo inglés, sino por su oferta gastronómica. Terminada su etapa americana como restaurante especializado en hamburguesas, actualmente, The Geographic Club ofrece una propuesta netamente mediterránea con algunos guiños de cocina internacional que se traduce en platos deliciosos y maravillosamente bien presentados de la mano de Sherwin Galang como responsable de cocina y Miguel Caballero como encargado de repostería.

En The Geographic Club podréis encontrar tres ambientes distintos, con lo que el éxito de vuestra velada está más que asegurado. En su entrada encontramos el cocktail bar con el globo de Jesús González con el que Camilo José Cela realizó su viaje para inspirarse en su libro Viaje a la Alcarria II y en la planta superior, su salón-restaurante de estilo victoriano decorado con objetos traídos desde todo el mundo. Finalmente, en su planta sótano se encuentra el cocktail pub, un genuino pub inglés en el que poder disfrutar de una carta de más de 50 cocktails con y sin alcohol, entre los que destaca el Singapore Sling.

Puede ser la opción perfecta para celebrar las reuniones en familia y amigos tan típicas en estas fechas. Y os aconsejo que echéis un vistazo a la carta: Steak Tartar, Caldereta de Merluza, Tortilla de Merluza, Flores de Alcachofa y Solomillo a la Parrilla fueron algunos de los platos que pudimos degustar.

Four people gathered around a table, a magical dinner and a beautiful setting. If I had to summarize (very briefly) the dinner I enjoyed a few days ago at The Geographic Club, in Madrid, I would do it like this. A lovely evening with new friends that I hope to see again soon.

I can assure you that it is one of the most interesting restaurants in which I have been in my life, not only for its decoration, since it is a restaurant conceived as an adventurous club in the purest English style, but for its gastronomic offer. Having finished its American stage as a restaurant specializing in hamburgers today, The Geographic Club offers a distinctly Mediterranean proposal with some international cuisine winks which translates into delicious and wonderfully well presented dishes of the hand of Sherwin Galang as chef and Miguel Caballero as Bakery manager.

At The Geographic Club you can find three different atmospheres, so the success of your evening is more than assured: At your entrance, we find the cocktail bar with the globe of Jesús González with which Camilo José Cela made his trip to draw inspiration from his book Viaje a la Alcarria II and on the top floor its restaurant hall of Victorian style decorated with objects brought from all over the world. Finally, in its basement the cocktail pub, a genuine English pub where you can enjoy a menu of more than 50 cocktails with and without alcohol, among them the Singapore Sling.

It can be the perfect choice to hold meetings with family and friends that in these times happen. And I advise you to take a look at the menu: Steak Tartar, Hake Caldereta, Hake Omelette, Artichoke Flowers and Grilled Sirloin were some of the dishes we could taste.
